Dr Kira Vinke works at the German Council on Foreign Relations as the Head of the Center for Climate and Foreign Policy. She is is affiliated as a guest scientist with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK).
Prior to this, Kira Vinke led the international East Africa Peru India Climate Capacities project (EPICC) at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. The project was on the connections between climate impact and migration flows and the various aspects of human security.
Kira Vinke conducted research at the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi on water safety and energy governance. She worked as an advisor for the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on the subject of climate change and migration in Bangladesh, the Caribbean and the Pacific Rim, as well as for the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
