First impressions of the Berlin Peace Dialogue 2025

The global security situation is coming to a head: Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine has shaken the European peace order. Authoritarian tendencies, polarisation and the ‘law of the strongest’ are on the rise worldwide – at the expense of multilateralism, democracy and the rule of law. Hybrid threats such as disinformation, cyber attacks and sabotage are becoming increasingly prominent.

How these challenges can be addressed is the focus of this year’s Berlin Peace Dialogue at the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg) under the title: “Hybrid Threats and Civilian Crisis Prevention: Building Resilience in a Fragmented World”.

The Berlin Peace Dialogue 2025 provides an important platform for discussing the importance of international responsibility, sustainable partnerships and holistic and conflict-sensitive approaches. Once again, the Advisory Board to the Federal Government Civilian Crisis Prevention and Peace is bringing together is once again bringing together experts from across departments and international networks to take a joint look at resilient crisis prevention in an increasingly fragmented world.

Here you can find the first impressions of the conference. More photos and videos, as well as recordings of the graphic recordings, will be available shortly on the Berlin Peace Dialogue 2025 event website.
