Berlin Peace Dialogue 2024

This year's annual conference of the Advisory Board takes place on November 5th 2024 at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Berlin and online. This year’s topic is: “The Importance of Crisis Prevention and Peacebuilding in an Age of Geopolitics”.

The international rules-based order is under increasing pressure due to escalating crises. While Russia directly threatens European democracies and war rages in Ukraine, the Middle East and Subsahara Africa, the systemic rivalries of global powers intensify, and deeply entrenched conflicts over political regimes, resources, and zones of influence are reemerging. How should and can a value-based and interest-driven foreign and development policy stand its ground in these shrinking spaces? What role does civilian crisis prevention and peacebuilding still play?

The Berlin Peace Dialogue 2024 will focus on the role of civilian crisis prevention in a world driven by power rivalries and the expanding use or projection of military power. Updates on registration, program and livestream can be found here.
