On the National Security Strategy

On the Position Statement

On 14 June 2023, the Federal Government published the first National Security Strategy. The Advisory Board explicitly welcomes the comprehensive understanding of security and the primacy of crisis prevention on which the National Security Strategy is based. Nevertheless, it remains open how the Federal Government can fulfil the mandate of crisis prevention in concrete terms in the future – not least in terms of budget allocation. In order to actively address these open questions and to encourage a discourse on how the ministries can proceed, the Advisory Board for Civilian Crisis Prevention formulates recommendations to the Federal Government in this position statement on the National Security Strategy.
