Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin

Under this year's motto “United in defense. United in reconstruction. Stronger together", over 2,000 guests from Europe and around the world are gathering in Berlin this week for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024. To emphasize the major role of civilian crisis prevention in such international peace and reconstruction efforts, the Co-Chair of the Advisory Board Lars Wagner is taking part in the conference.

Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression in 2022, the Ukraine Recovery Conference has been bringing together many heads of state and government representatives, international organizations as well as financial institutions, companies and civil society organizations to discuss the reconstruction of Ukraine after the end of the war and international support. The relevance of collective action and civilian perspectives is underlined by this year’s motto.

This year, the conference was opened by Germany’s Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz alongside the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Selenskyj and the President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen. Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Development Minister Svenja Schulze and Economics Minister Robert Habeck, among others, will discuss support options with their counterparts from Ukraine, the UK, Italy, Poland and high-ranking UN representatives in various panels. Local politicians from Ukraine will also take part, such as the mayor of Kharkiv.
