Bodo von Borries is Head of Department at VENRO. He has been a member of the Advisory Board since 2010 and acted as Co-Chair from 2018-2022. Bodo von Borries coordinates the Implementation of the Federal Government’s Guidelines project.

At VENRO, Bodo von Borries is responsible for the areas Humanitarian Assistance, Peacebuilding and Participation. VENRO is the German umbrella organisation for development and humanitarian non-governmental organisations. It currently has 140 members.

Previous work includes directing the South American regional office for terre des hommes Germany (based in Bolivia), representing the Civil Peace Service Consortium at the Gruppe Friedensentwicklung (FriEnt) [Working Group on Development and Peace] in Bonn, coordinating the human rights unit of the charitable organisation of Protestant churches in Germany, EDK/Bread for the World in Stuttgart, and providing international convoys for human rights defenders in Columbia as part of Peace Brigades International.
